The members of the South East Regional Inshore Fisheries Forum are:
Trudy McIntyre – Chair of the South East RIFF
Sector: Fisheries – Dunmore East
Trudy is from a fishing family and completed her deckhand course in 1998 with BIM. She has experience fishing on trawlers, seiners, gill netters and pot vessels. She has participated in BIM fishing trials. She is the NIFF representative on the Quota Management Committee which she participates in on a monthly basis. Trudy was the previous chair of the Dunmore East Community Fisheries Local Action Group.
Charles Featherstone – Vice Chair of the South East RIFF
Charlie owns the fishing vessel “Fran Leon III”, WD255. He is involved in fishing for whelk using pots. He also pot fishes for lobster and crab, trawls for whitefish and squid and dredges for scallop. Charlie has participated and attended many meetings concerning fisheries management over the years.
Noel owns the fishing vessel “Sea Quest”, WD280. He is involved in fishing for whelk using pots. He also pots for lobster and crab and uses hooks and lines.
Michelle Scallan Howlin
Michelle owns the razor fishing vessel “Mary Marie”, C307 and has been fishing in Rosslare and Curracloe since 2010. She has 18 years’ experience processing prawns, scallops and razor clams and is secretary of the Rosslare Razor Clam Association.
Tom owns the fishing vessel “Catherine Mark”, W254 and fishes for lobster, crab and whelk using pots. He also uses gill nets and trawls for whitefish and prawns and fishes for herring and dredges for scallop. Tom is the chair of the South Wexford Lobster Co-op which has been active in proposing sustainable management of lobster stocks by being the first co-op in Ireland to establish and carry out v-notching. He is also a member of the Kilmore Quay Fishermen’s Co-op.
Eugene has vast experience fishing. From 1958 – 1970 he fished for herring, he then moved to potting for lobster for 10 years , scallop fishing from 1998-2006, cockles from 1994-2000 and is currently fishing for razor clams. Eugene is a member of the Kilmore Quay Fishermen’s co-op, the IFPO, and the Waterford Estuary Surf Clam and Cockle Local Advisory Committee. He is also the representative on the SE RIFF from the South East Fisheries Local Action Group.
Stephen owns the fishing vessel “Boy River”, W280. He is involved in potting for crab, lobster , inshore trawling, gill netting and hooks and line, dredging for surf and razor clams and scallop. He is a member of the Waterford Estuary Surf Clam/Cockle Local Advisory Committee, the Celtic Sea Herring Management Committee and the Irish South and East Fish Producers Organisation.

Cliona Mhic Giolla Chuda
Cliona is a member of the South East Fisheries Local Action group (FLAG) and is on the board of the Waterford Leader Partnership, director and manager of Meitheal Trá Na Rinne Teo, board member of Comhlucht Forbartha Na nDéise Teo, and a member of the Irish Shellfish Association (IFA Aquaculture).
Sector: Processors/Added Value/Buyers/Sales
Leslie is the Managing Director of Sofrimar in Kilmore Quay, Co.Wexford . He has an exhaustive knowledge of the fishing industry and in the buying, processing and exportation of scallop, crab and razor clams.
Sector: Marine Tourism – Charter Boats
Eamonn owns the charter vessel “Autumn Dream” which is licensed to carry 12 passengers. He runs his charter business from Kilmore Quay and takes people angling, whale and dolphin watching, nature trips etc.
